Hey Collective Crew, Shaun here. This week on The Gold Mine, we had the distinct honor of sitting down with Sachin Latti – “Sach” – a former law enforcement officer turned purpose-driven athlete, just days before he embarks on an monumental undertaking: running across Canada. This isn’t just an endurance feat; it’s a deeply personal and profoundly important mission to raise awareness and funds for mental health, impacting communities from coast to coast.
Chance and I wanted to shine a spotlight on Sach’s journey, the evolution of his “why,” the incredible team supporting him, and how we can all get involved in this vital cause.

This Week’s Purpose-Driven Human:

– Sachin “Sach” Latti: Founder of SachInMotion.ca, former law enforcement, embarking on a cross-Canada run for mental health awareness.

Key Insights from Our Conversation:

1. The Evolution of a Mission – From Self to Service
Sach candidly shared that his journey into this space began with a focus on himself, admitting to past self-centeredness. However, over five years of relentless preparation, his mission has evolved into a comprehensive team effort to support mental health for veterans, first responders, youth, those with addiction, and men, through partnerships with charities like Wounded Warriors Canada, Together We Can, Canadian Men’s Health Foundation, Jack.org, and Their Opportunity.

2. The Journey to the Start Line – Years in the Making
As I pointed out, getting to the start line of such an audacious goal is an immense achievement in itself. Sach acknowledged the incredible amount of work, learning, and personal growth over the past five years, making him a “very different person than the one he used to be” and ready for Monday’s start.

3. Mindset for the Miles – Day by Day, Step by Step
When asked about his mindset for the varied Canadian terrain, Sach emphasized a day-to-day approach, focusing on executing each day to the best of his ability rather than being overwhelmed by the entirety of the journey.

4. Facing the Internal “Self” – The Endurance Challenge
I likened Sach’s journey to 24-hour solo races, where the biggest challenge is often internal. Sach’s run will undoubtedly be a profound journey of self-discovery, confronting doubts and pushing his own mental and physical limits.

5. The Power of a Team – No One Runs Alone
Sach was emphatic about his team’s crucial role, acknowledging he wouldn’t be where he is without their support in logistics, branding, social media, and fundraising. This highlighted the importance of shared purpose and mutual support, not just “dabbling” in teamwork.

6. The “Why” as Fuel – Beyond Personal Glory & The “No Quit” Mentality
The conversation continually circled back to Sach’s “why.” He admitted he doesn’t even like running, but his passion for the cause and not letting down his supporters provides immense conviction. He even shared he has his personal Will prepared, underscoring his commitment: “I’m ready to die on this before I quit.”

7. A Call to Action – How to Support Sach’s Mission
Follow and share Sach’s journey (SachInMotion.ca), join him for a run (details on his website), cheer him on, and donate to support the mission and partner charities.

Final Thought: The Inevitability of Purpose-Driven Action
Sach’s journey to this start line has been five years of grit, learning, and unwavering commitment to a cause far bigger than himself. His run across Canada is more than an athletic feat; it’s a rolling testament to the power of purpose, the strength of community, and the profound impact one individual can have when they align their actions with a deep-seated conviction to serve.

Let’s all find ways to support that inevitability.
